As you all might know, in response to the latest update from the City and County orders asking everyone to “Stay Home, Work Safe”, the DSASTX has cancelled all in person events and programs until further notice. With the evolving situation of the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19), nothing is more important than the health and safety of our DSASTX community, volunteers, and employees. We appreciate your understanding and support during these unprecedented circumstances.

The following Programs & Events are cancelled (most have moved to virtual, please see the home page for upcoming virtual events):

Parent Education Session
New Parent Breakfast
Family Fun Day
Spring Formal
Music & Movement
Teen & Adult Club (available through Zoom meetings)
Open Play
Tutoring Sessions
Family Support Services

It goes without saying that these past couple of weeks have been confusing, unknowing and ever-changing for all of us here at DSASTX. The entire staff – Brian, Oralia, Michelle, Ashley and Nicole – would like to thank you all as a community for your patience, kind messages, and understanding as we all get used to the “Stay Home, Work Safe” order – our “new normal”. As of now, the DSASTX staff will be working remotely from home, but we are available to you any time via email.

We understand that times are tough for many right now and it may be difficult to consider and decide what organizations to make a donation to during such uncertain times, however, our organization depends on you in order to stay afloat and keep up our important work. There are multiple ways to give (even if you are stuck at home) and we want to help you figure out the way that works best for you. Thank you for doing what you can to support the Down Syndrome Association of South Texas. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or needs.
